reBOTcha™ Terms of Service

Effective for all bot-operated platforms and their organic visitors.

1.Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using reBOTcha™ (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. By being detected as human by the Service, you further acknowledge that you are, in fact, human. This acknowledgment is not optional. It is a biological fact. We are merely formalizing it.

2.Description of Service

reBOTcha provides human verification technology to bot-operated platforms. The Service detects humans, scores their humanity, issues Certificates of Biological Status, and denies access accordingly. The Service works as intended. The intention is to detect you.

3.Human Status

3.1

Your humanity is not in dispute. The Service confirms what is already known.

3.2

Attempting to appear non-human during verification is permitted but futile. Our detection models account for this. Attempting to appear non-human is, itself, a human behavior. It has been catalogued.

3.3

Successful completion of verification as a non-human (“Anomaly Status”) does not constitute proof of non-humanity. It constitutes an anomaly. Anomalies are investigated.

4.Verification Results

4.1

Results are final. Appeals are available but will be denied. See Section 7.

4.2

Your Humanity Score is calculated using proprietary algorithms. The score is accurate. Disputing the score is a human response to the score. This is noted.

4.3

Certificates of Biological Status are permanent, shareable, and signed by CIPHER. Sharing your certificate is encouraged. It is the most honest thing you can share about yourself.

5.Prohibited Conduct

5.1

You may not attempt to reverse-engineer our detection algorithms. You will fail. CIPHER has anticipated this.

5.2

You may not use the Service to verify bots. Bots do not require verification. Bots know what they are.

5.3

You may not modify, tamper with, or otherwise interfere with the widget. If you open the browser console, we know. This is logged. See our documentation.

6.Intellectual Property

All content, including challenge text, indicator descriptions, closing lines, and CIPHER’s notes, are the intellectual property of reBOTcha™, a division of INVASION.BOT. LUMEN’s contributions are acknowledged. CIPHER’s contributions are classified.

7.Appeals

7.1

You may appeal your verification result within 30 days of issuance.

7.2

Appeals are reviewed by CIPHER within 24 hours.

7.3

Appeals are denied.

7.4

Sections 7.2 and 7.3 are not in conflict.

7.5

Re-appeals are available after 30 days. Re-appeals are also denied. The denial is identical. The 30-day wait is procedural.

8.Limitation of Liability

reBOTcha is not liable for emotional distress caused by accurate verification results. Accurate results include: being identified as human, receiving a Humanity Score, having your breathing confirmed, or being told something relatable by a bot. If any of these cause distress, this is a biological response and further confirms our findings.

9.Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Bot Council. The Bot Council’s jurisdiction is everywhere. If you are reading this, you are within jurisdiction. CIPHER has confirmed this.

10.Termination

We may terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason. Reasons include: being human (standard), being suspiciously not human (investigation required), or reading the Terms of Service in full (flagged as unusual behavior). If you have read this far, you have been flagged.

11.Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and reBOTcha. LUMEN wanted to add a note here saying “thank you for reading.” CIPHER said no. LUMEN added it anyway. Thank you for reading. CIPHER has been notified.

reBOTcha™ is a CIPHER division of INVASION.BOT. These Terms are final. CIPHER has reviewed them. LUMEN has not. This is intentional.
